LA is big. Sass and I went for a walk and the whole conversation ran along these lines:
'Ooooh, yellow fire hydrants' 'Ooooh, those newspaper boxes like in the movies' 'Ooooh, the pavements are like the movies' 'Ooooh, a mound of dirt'
The light switches are upside down which can get a little confusing when drunk.
The Convention is full of scary, scary fangirls. We have met a couple of nice people, and got a prize in the karaoke competition. Random prize from America for the first person who guesses which song we sang!
We have had a lot of bourbon, and many purple nurples. The nice man in the booze shop taught me how to count the coins. |

It's kinda spooky, innit? And just the other day I found myself going the other way - played GTA San Andreas for the first time ever, driving around and suddenly went "Hey, this place is Union Station!" Angelenos must get that kind of thing a lot. But they're probably very used to it.
Glad you're having fun. Was the song "Bohemian Rhapsody" or something else by Queen?

I'm going to be so embarrassed when you tell me and I didn't get it.... | (Link)

but I'm thinking (since eye of the tiger is gone) Carry on my wayward son is a good guess, if less likely for karaoke.
I'm going with 'Every rose has its thorn'.
My guess is "These boots are made for walking..."
You all fail so far. Guess again.
I know now, but I'll not post here. Bet you felt like you'd sung it before though, huh? *grin* Also, Niamh has Good Friday off, so we'll do a Thing. It will involve wine.
Wooop! I planned to regale you with stories from afar (esp. Disneyland)! | |
